Webinar in which we prepare the first IATI publication under the Guided Implementation programme. This is an important quarter, because the correct set up of your data avoids a lot of problems later.

Resources for this quarter:
a. Article ‘what is an activity?
b. Article ‘how to link to the donor
c. Article ‘how to deal with sensitive information
d. The Powerpoint of the webinar
e. The below video of the webinar. As mentioned in the webinar, please make sure you watch these videos in order, so if you have missed the kick-off, watch that first.

Your work this quarter:

Check here for the to-do list from last webinar (the kick-off). If you haven’t done any of these, please do them as soon as possible.

If your organisation is new to publishing in IATI:
a. Add the activities you want to publish to your IATI dataset (via Aidstream or another application)
b. Make sure all activities link to the donor’s activity – this is vital!
c. Add the other basic information covered in the webinar (full list below under ‘Elements for this quarter’)
d. Publish the data to the IATI Registry
e. Let us know here that you have published, so we can check the data and add you to METIS – this is vital!
f. Check METIS after two days: did it work?

If your organisation has published before:
a. Check if your activity structure is correct and make changes if necessary, on at least one activity (full list below under ‘Elements for this quarter’)
b. Double check if you have linked to the donor’s activity correctly and correct any mistakes there – this is vital!
c. Add any new activities if you need to
d. Let us know here that you have published, so we can check the data and add you to METIS if we haven’t yet – this is vital!
e. Check METIS after two days: did it work?

If you are part of a partnership:
a. Agree between all partners on a structure
b. Add the activities to your IATI dataset
c. Link to the donor and add the other basic information – the link is vital! (Full list below under ‘Elements for this quarter’)
d. Let us know here that you have published, so we can check if everything is correct. If you were not visible in METIS before, we might have to add you first.
e. Check METIS after two days: did it work?

Please note that, if you are in a partnership, you will most likely be very late in publishing your data. That is not something we can fix here, our programme is not adapted to meet those deadlines. (Last year’s programme was, but that ship has sailed.)
