What if the IATI report is not approved?

If the budget holder (i.e. the thematic department or embassy funding the activity) does not approve the IATI publication as a progress report, how can that be remedied, considering the data are already published in the open domain?

The IATI publication of an implementing partner shows a mix of data on progress and an explanation on why the progress is the way it is. In case either the progress itself or the explanation on progress (or lack thereof) is not acceptable, the budget holder will have to engage in a dialogue and ask for further explanation. Based on the dialogue, the budget holder may decide whether an updated IATI publication with further explanation is sufficient or whether changes in the approach are necessary. These changes will then be reflected in the subsequent IATI publication of the implementing partner.
